DOUGLAS PARK COMPETITION RULES
For Little Athletics registered athletes, every competition night will be conducted to Association Rules as far as practicable, as set out in the Rules of Competition (ROC) which is available to read online. It is important to remember at Zone or any other Championship that any competitor receiving coaching or assistance from ANY person on the field of competition whether Official or parent, could be disqualified.
Events will be conducted and arranged in a manner which facilitates the smooth running of the night and at the discretion of the Committee.
Since season 2005/6, Douglas Park Little Athletics changed the way the High Jump event is conducted. High Jump has always been an event that takes a long time to complete. The change is as follows: Once an athlete has competed at High Jump and established a maximum height they can clear, at future High Jump events on a Friday night at Douglas Park, the athlete will not attempt to clear a height until the height is 15 centimetres below their maximum height. If the athlete increases their maximum height on any night, for future nights they will not attempt to clear a height until the height is 15 centimetres below their increased maximum.
